McGrane, John William
John William McGrane, 68, of Guttenberg, born in Hazel Green, Wis., died on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, with his family by his side at JFK Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 207 S. First, Guttenberg, where the family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, and one hour before service at church. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 30, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg, with the Rev. Marvin Bries officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
Beloved husband of Jean (Raible) McGrane; father of Carrie (Raible) and Steven Sylvester of West Palm Beach, Kate (Raible) and Jim Watson Jr. of Pittsburgh, and Jason McGrane of Pittsburgh; grandfather of Elizabeth and Jack Sylvester and Grant Watson; son of the late Raymond and Emma (Bird) McGrane; and brother of Jeanette (McGrane) Hessling of Hazel Green, Wis.
John was a dedicated business owner, bookkeeper and tax preparer for more than 40 years. He cherished the time spent with his family, friends, and the people of his community. His hobbies included being a dedicated father and grandfather, Green Bay Packer fan, member of Prairie La Porte service club, golfing and traveling to visit family members. John will be remembered most for his easygoing personality and infectious smile which extended to everyone he met.
