TIMOTHY THOMAS CORPORON
New London
Timothy Thomas Corporon, 75, of New London, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at New London Specialty Care. Born May 23, 1941, in Marion, Iowa, he was the son of Frank Theodore and Freida Emma Kerkman Corporon.
On Jan. 28, 1961, he married Ruth Ann Heiken in Marion.
He graduated from Marion High School in 1959. Mr. Corporon and his wife owned and operated "Club 151" in Langworthy, Iowa. He was the manager of the Shomont Lumberyard in Langworthy and in 1981 became manager of Spahn and Rose Lumber Co. in New London. He sold cars for Hines Motors and retired from Hummer Trucking. He was a member of the New London Presbyterian Church, many local booster clubs, former member of New London Jaycees, was a New London volunteer fireman, and was a volunteer at New London Care Center.
Tim greatly enjoyed life, including hunting, mushrooming, RV camping, playing fantasy football and cribbage. He was a fan of the Cubs, the Bears and the Hawkeyes. He enjoyed spending time using his laptop computer. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their events, rarely missing one. He was very proud of his four sons and their service to their country, and loved flying the American flag.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Scott (Joan) of Peoria, Ariz., Tom of New London, Rick (Lori) of Mascoutah, Ill., and Jerry of Irving, Texas; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Max (Maggie) of Rochester Hills, Mich.; and one sister, Edith (Lew) Pearson of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Leo.
The funeral service for Mr. Timothy Corporon will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Elliott Chapel, New London, with Pastor Aimee Goldmeyer officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday with the family present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be at Burge Cemetery, New London.
Memorials have been established to New London Rescue Unit, New London Specialty Care Activity Fund and New London Presbyterian Church.
