NORMAN MEEK
Shellsburg
Norman Meek, 80, passed away Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Death was from pneumonia following a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 2, 1934, at this same hospital to Lloyd and Beulah Meek. He spent most of his adult life at their family farm home in Shellsburg, Iowa. He last resided at Manor Care in West Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Colleen Wilt.
He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Hagan; brothers-in-law, Donald Hagan and Duane Wilt; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the staff at Manor Care and Methodist Hospital for their care and support.
No local service is planned. His wish was to be cremated and buried near his other family members at Parkers Grove Cemetery near Shellsburg. There will be a service at the cemetery in conjunction with a family reunion on June 14.
