Gordon, Norman
Norman Gordon, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 18, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Memorial services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at First Assembly of God by Pastor Rick Gail. (For those attending, please enter by door 2 on the east side of the church.) Papich-Kuba Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
Norman is survived by his wife, Leta “Lee”; two brothers, Floyd (Twyla) of Joliet, Ill., and Ken (Edie) of Puyallup, Wash.; and a sister, Jackie (Ralph) Fairburn of Joliet, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Joann (Liker) Gordon; and his pet cat, Stormy.
Norman was born Nov. 15, 1934, in Joliet, Ill., and came to Cedar Rapids in 1994 from Wapato, Wash. He married Leta “Lee” Brotzman on April 15, 1989, in Puyallup, Wash. Norm was employed as a deliveryman for The Gazette and also worked as a taxicab driver. Norm and Lee attended First Assembly of God. He enjoyed using his computer and also listening to recordings of singers from the 1940s and 1950s. Norm especially loved his cats Thunder and Ike.
