Munier, Daisy Elaine (Morehouse)
Daisy Elaine (Morehouse) Munier, 93, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids, passed away there Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. John Louk. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Gene (Marilyn) Munier of Cedar Rapids, Dale (Nina) Munier of Marion and Gerald (Laura) Munier of Marion; six grandchildren, David (Sandy) Munier of Tryon, Okla., Deniene (Thomas) Kneeland of Waterloo, Julie Gerber of Marion, John (Traci) Munier of Springville, Cindy (David) McDonald of Central City and Adam (Angela) Munier of Marion; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Beach of Marion and Evelyn White of Florida; a brother-in-law, Norman Hammond of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Theodore; two brothers, Lance and Floyd Morehouse; and one sister, Arlene Hammond.
Daisy was born March 29, 1916, the daughter of Floyd and Ruby (Fordice) Morehouse, in Chickasaw County, Iowa. She graduated from high school in 1934 and married Theodore Munier on Aug. 23, 1935, in Iowa City, Iowa. He died in 1997. Daisy was a member of the 4-C Club, DAR, Homemaker's Club and Farm Bureau. She was a homemaker and a farmer's wife her entire life. Daisy enjoyed spending time with her family and extended family, especially her grandchildren.
