Neuma U. Whetstine, 86, longtime resident of Iowa City, died Thursday, June 23, 2011, at the Solon Nursing and Rehab Center.
Neuma was always special, after all how many people can say their name was based on the word for lion in the 1920s book, “Tarzan the Untamed” by Edgar Rice Burroughs?
She was the best wife, mother and grandmother anyone could ever want; she was caring, giving, and always there when we needed her. Even in the hard times when she had very little to work with, she made a loving home for us. Most importantly she made us laugh and laughed with us, putting up with all our antics and at times even instigating them herself!
She left us with a smile and love in our hearts.
