David "Dave" Gerald Norman, 37, of Marion, died Sunday, April 27, 2014. A celebration of Dave's life will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at the Hunter's Ridge Clubhouse. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Tracey; two daughters, Isabelle and Elise; his father, Gerald "Jerry" Norman; and three siblings, Terri (Kevin) Oppedahl, Michael (Lisa) Norman and Stacey (Mason) Loftus.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara.
David was born April 26, 1977, the son of Gerald and Barbara (Merritt) Norman in Osage, Iowa. He graduated from Springville High School and UNI. He earned his Masters at Nova SE University. On Dec. 28, 2002, he married Tracey Portz in Marion, Iowa. Dave worked as a senior program manager at Rockwell Collins.
He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. Dave enjoyed golf, basketball, biking, running and sports with his girls. He liked socializing with his family and friends. Dave was a family man and a Hawkeye fan.
