Sarah "Sally" Comried, 78, of Walford, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha.
Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life will be held in September.
Sally was born Aug. 30, 1939, in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Agnes (Carlson) Carolan. She went to St. Benedict School in Decorah, Iowa. Sally worked at Rockwell Collins for 30 years before she retired in 1990. She came out of retirement to continue her work experience at Crystal Group most recently. Sally enjoyed trying her luck at Meskwaki Casino.
Sally is survived by her husband, Douglas Comried of Walford; children, Gary Moen of Cedar Rapids, Susan Hilby of Cedar Rapids, Steve Moen of Walford, Jeff (Jody) Comried of Marion and Amy Unkel of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Andrea, Alyssa, Aaron, Paige, Rafe, Aiden, Tanner, Tyler and Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Eden and Wynn, and two more great-grandchildren are on the way; siblings, Pat (Tom) Berg of Minneapolis, Mary (Al) Kenney of Colorado, Mike (Sandy) Carolan of Cedar Rapids, Bonnie Mincy of Cedar Rapids, Linda Jordan of Cedar Rapids; and sister-in-law, Linda Carolan of Solon.
She was preceded in death her first husband, James Moen; her two brothers, Jim and Tom Carolan; infant sister, Betty Carolan; and brothers-in-law, Gene Mincy and Bruce Jordan.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to everyone at Hospice House of Mercy for their care and compassion.
