Biden shows pandemic leadership

Joe Biden and Donald Trump's response to the coronavirus provides a stark contrast in leadership. In January, before the Iowa caucuses, Biden published an op-ed in USA Today expressing concern that Trump wasn't up to the task of combating the pandemic. Biden laid out what he would do as president.

Had Trump followed Biden's recommendations tens of thousands of Americans would be alive today. Instead Trump repeatedly downplayed the threat, ignored scientist and engaged in happy talk.

Trump repeatedly said the virus will 'like a miracle disappear,” April's warm weather will kill the virus, 'by June 1, we will be well on our way to recovery.”

On April 3, during the coronavirus task force news conference, the CDC's mask recommendation was announced. Trump downplayed the importance of mask wearing and stated 'I just don't want to wear one myself, it's a recommendation.”

On May 26, Trump mocked Biden for wearing a mask at a Memorial Day event. Two months later Trump wore a mask at Walter Reed, which has a mask mandate, and bragged that wearing a mask is patriotic. Trump hasn't been seen in a mask since.

Trump moved the RNC from North Carolina to avoid the state's mask and social distancing mandate.

On June 20, Trump held a rally in Tulsa resulting in an increase in COVID-19 cases. Trump has demonstrated a lack of seriousness and inability to lead, it is time for a new president. Vote for Joe Biden on Nov. 3.
