David C. McGinley, 72, of Independence, died Saturday morning, April 16, 2016, at Grundy County Hospital in Grundy Center.
Dave was born Jan. 13, 1944, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Ted and Iva (Rose) McGinley. He attended Independence Community Schools and in 1964, began working for Quaker Oats Co. in Cedar Rapids. He worked there for 36 years before his retirement in 2000.
Dave enjoyed being with his friends playing pool and automobile racing.
He is survived by a couple of cousins and a good friend, Sean Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, where friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery, Independence.
