Fritz, Louise E.
Louise E. Fritz, 90, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Urbana, with Father Ardel Barta as celebrant. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery near Urbana. Public visitation also will be at the church in Urbana from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday.
Louise was born July 11, 1922, in Maquoketa, to Fred H. and Ruth (Grant) Eggerstedt and graduated from high school in Williamsfield, Ill. Louise was employed for many years as an LPN at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Urbana and reading was her favorite pastime.
To honor her request a memorial fund has been established for the Vinton Library, where she appreciated the kindness and dedication of the librarian and staff.
On Aug. 16, 1969, she was united in marriage to Lester Richard Fritz in Iowa City. He preceded her in death on May 4 of this year.
She is survived by her daughters, Marjorie (William) McVey of Galesburg, Ill., and Joan (Bob) Jindrich of West Branch; her sons, Michael (Esmeralda) Moore of Chicago and Merrill (Carol) Moore of Vinton; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lester, she was preceded in death by her son, Edwin Fritz.
