Dziewanowski, Sharon E.
Sharon E. Dziewanowski, 65, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Urbana, with Father David Ambrosy as celebrant. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery near Urbana. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 East Sixth St., Vinton, from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and at the church in Urbana after 9 a.m. Monday. A vigil service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, conducted by Father Ardel Barta.
A memorial fund has been established for the Urbana Ambulance.
Sharon was born Nov. 12, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, to Harold and Maxine (McElwain) Hill, and graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, with the class of 1965. On Nov. 26, 1965, she married Thomas “Tom” Anthony Dziewanowski in Marion. Tom preceded her in death on March 21, 2007. Sharon was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Urbana. She worked for Rockwell Collins for 35 years, retiring in 2006.
She is survived by her son, Steven Dziewanowski and his wife, Stacey, of Marion; her daughter, Deanna Dziewanowski of Urbana; her grandson, Zachary Dziewanowski; and one brother, George Hill and his wife, Barb, of Cedar Rapids.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant children, Anthony Allan and Angela Rae Dziewanowski; one sister, Carol Franck; and two brothers, Harold and Kenny Hill.
