Appointments
Jim Duval (see photo) joined Syncbak as vice president of product management. Duval's experience includes senior positions at Kivetta, Decisionmark, EDS, Phillips Petroleum Co. and Mattel Interactive.
Foundation 2 added two new members to its board of directors: LaSheila Yates (see photo) of the city of Cedar Rapids and Erik Albinson (see photo) of Coe College.
Don McMahan was named vice president of data and research with Infinity Contact.
The Carl & Mary Koehler History Center in Cedar Rapids announced new board members and officers: John Carney, Kirkwood Community College; Chad Henry, TrueNorth Insurance and Financial Strategies; Ron Maxa, Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust; Jennifer Schmidt, Mount Mercy University; Adam Vargason, RSM McGladrey Inc.; and Lesley Vossenkemper, RuffaloCODY. Scott Arensdorf of RuffaloCODY was named board president. Jon Thompson, an antiques appraiser, was named vice president. Adam Vargason was named treasurer.
Jim McKernan was appointed vice president and general manager of KWWL. McKernan has more than 25 years of management experience.
Promotions
Steven Hinsley (see photo) was promoted to vice president operations with Thomas L. Cardella & Associates. Hinsley was previously vice president of training and development.
Elections
Swisher-based Miracles in Motion Therapeutic Equestrian Center elected new board members and officers: Fred Zehr (see photo), retired from Rockwell Collins, president; Carlotta Antonelli (see photo), Pampered Chef, vice president; Kathleen Kleiman (see photo), Simmons Perrine Moyer Bergman, secretary; and Carley Umstead (see photo), McGladrey, treasurer; Karla Laubenthal (see photo), University of Iowa; Jim McNutt (see photo), McNutt Equine Veterinary; Joyce Snyder (see photo), Miracles in Motion; Barb Trujillo (see photo), Body Therapy Center; Jackie Wallace (see photo), Cornell College; and Veronica Worley (see photo), OPN Architects Inc.
New officers for the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library elected were: Lu Barta Barron, Linn County Supervisor, chairwoman; Rich Mitvalsky, Grey, Stefani & Mitvalsky, vice chairman; Craig Van Dyke, Western Fraternal Life Association, secretary; and Tom Stanczyk, Rockwell Collins, treasurer.
Altorfer Inc. announced the board of directors elected Derek Altorfer (see photo) as executive vice president. Altorfer joined the company in 2006 as marketing manager.
