Marlene H. Ruchotzke, 80, of Clarence, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017, at her home. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden with the Rev. Daniel Redhage officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Lowden. A lunch at the church will follow the burial. Visitation will be held from 9:30 until service time Saturday at the church.
Marlene was born Feb. 22, 1937, in Clinton County, to Walter and Helen (Wray) Shedeck. She married Wilfred J. Ruchotzke at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden on June 5, 1955. He died Nov. 27, 2008.
Marlene started out in a small country school and went to Lost Nation for her middle school years up until ninth grade. She graduated from high school in Oxford Junction on May 19, 1955. Marlene helped her husband farm for over 50 years and was a loving wife and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, camping and making homemade wine.
Those left to treasure her memory include her children, Rhonda Ruchotzke, Mark Ruchotzke and Terry (Becky) Ruchotzke; six grandchildren, Afton (Blake) Coleman, Kyle Thumser, Evan Ruchotzke, Madison Ruchotzke, Levi Ruchotzke and Erin Ruchotzke; four great-grandchildren, Brant, Scarlett, Bentley and Laikyn; sisters, Violet (Larry) Fleshner, Eileen (John) Wosoba and Teresa (Jack) Sides; and brother, DeWayne (Mary Joy) Shedeck.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Dolores Ruchotzke.
