Dianne D. Bizek, 70, of Palo, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids of ovarian cancer. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at Palo United Methodist Church, where there will be a visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. The Rev. John Howerton will officiate. Inurnment: 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis; two daughters, Tina (Cathy) Kingery of Cedar Rapids and Michelle (Brian) Hansel of Oswego, Ill.; a son-in-law, Roger Coppess of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Pam (Jerry) Loeffebien of Brainerd, Minn.; three brothers, Robert (Terri) Blackwelder Jr. of Fergus Falls, Minn., Richard (Linda) Blackwelder of Canby, Minn., and David (Denise) Blackwelder of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and five grandchildren, Macey, Logan, Colin, Paige and Ella.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Dianne was born May 27, 1944, in Effington, N.D., the daughter of Robert Sr. and Arlene Hoss Blackwelder. She graduated from Long Beach High School in 1961. Dianne married Dennis W. Bizek on Oct. 14, 1967, in Cedar Rapids.
She was a faithful member of the Palo United Methodist Church, where she was very active, especially in the Bible school program.
Dianne enjoyed gardening, shopping, cooking, was an avid reader and loved the holidays and the time spent with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren. She was very committed to her family and never missed an event that her grandchildren were involved in.
Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to the Palo United Methodist Church.
