Fank, Melvin C.
Melvin C. Fank, 81, of rural Winthrop, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 23, 2011, at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Winthrop, with the Rev. Don Plamondon officiating. Burial: St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Winthrop, where a rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and parish vigil service held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
He is survived by five children: John (Dixie) Fank of Walker, Mary (Louie) Kacere Jr. of Cedar Rapids, Ron (Polly) Fank of Independence, Gary (Michele) Fank of Winthrop and Dianne (Robert Slocum) Fank of Aurora; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean Fank, in 2009; and a brother, Reynold Fank in 2008.
