Jerry L. Morlan, 71, of North Liberty, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at the Mercy Hospice Unit at Mercy Iowa City. Jerry's wishes were to be cremated. Private family services will be held.

Instead of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Mercy Hospice Unit at Mercy Iowa City or Iowa City Hospice. Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service is handling arrangements.

Jerry was born Jan. 30, 1942, in Morrison, Ill., the son of Lawrence and Myrtle Morlan. He graduated from Moulten-Udell Community High School and on Sept. 3, 1971, married Sandra Anderson in Port Byron, Ill. Living in Riverside, Iowa, and moving to the North Liberty area in 1980, Jerry worked as a finisher for Centro Plastics in North Liberty, retiring in 2009.

He was a member of the Rod Benders Bass Club of Iowa City.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Sandy; his children, Donald Morlan (Lara) of Coralville, Charlie Morlan of Edgerton, Minn., Stefanie Dillon (Tony) of Grinnell and Tina Schrader (Joe) of Shulenburg, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Seth and Spencer Morlan, Katie, Kelsie and Allie Morlan, Terry, Jaime Dillon Murphy and Jacob Dillon, Amber Nowotny and Dustin and Natosha Schrader; and five great-grandchildren, Lilly, Osiris, Damien and Aiden Nowotny and Traecen Murphy.

His parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
