Billy Dean Beaty, 87, of Fairfax, died Monday, March 20, 2017, at UnityPoint
Health-St. Luke's Hospital. A celebration of life will be
held Sunday, June 18, at Fairfax American Legion from 2 to 4 p.m.
Billy is survived by his wife, Ellie; children, Cindy (Chuck) Young of Palo and Mike Beaty (special friend Robin Kannenberg) of Marion; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great- great-grandchild; and sons-in-law, John Murphy of Keokuk and Gary Knight of Whittier.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Sandy Knight and Chris Murphy; and brother, Dale Beaty.
Billy Dean was born Sept. 17, 1929, in Moravia, the son of Leo and Wilma Dicks Beaty, and married Eloise May Belger on May 28, 1950. In 1985, Billy retired as a courier driver for FMC. For 21 years, he was owner/operator of Ellie's Lawn Care.
Billy was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy.
Billy enjoyed NASCAR, mowing, rebuilding tractors and collecting die cast toys, especially cars.
