Murphy, Patricia A.
Patricia A. Murphy, 77, of 4309 Ozark St. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. A celebration of Patricia's life will be held for family and friends at a later date. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include three sons, Kim (Jane) Mohr of Marion, Rory (Shelley) Mohr of San Francisco, Calif., and Shawn (Marcy) Murphy of Cedar Rapids; stepsons, Patrick (Sharon) Murphy of Robins, and Mike (Gloria) Murphy of California; and two stepdaughters, Margo (Larry) Uhre of Oregon, and Tina (Paul) Nichelberg of Arizona.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, Heather Povlick, Benjamin (Taryn) Mohr and Scott Mohr; two great-grandchildren, Delaney Povlick and Gavin Mohr; and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Glenn Marshall.
Patricia was born on Sept. 5, 1933, in Monticello, the daughter of Harold and Margaret Stott Marshall. She married James I. Mohr in June 1951 in Wyoming, Iowa. They were later divorced. She later married Hamill J. Murphy in 1961 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 2002. Patricia worked at Collins Radio and retired from there after 28 years of service.Patricia was an avid reader, enjoyed working cross word puzzles and doting on her beloved cat, Sid.
Memorial donation may be given to the American Heart Association.
