E. George Branstetter, 97,

a resident of The Meth-Wick Community died there on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016. Services at 1 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. Dan Wiersema will officiate. Entombment with military rites at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include three sons, Daniel (Barbara) of North Bend, Wash., Robert (Carol) of The Woodlands, Texas, and Bradley (Belinda) of Coppell, Texas. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, John, Michael, Nicole, Sarah (Kyle), Ben (Michelle), Elizabeth and Jenna; and three great-grandchildren, Lauren, Isaiah and Jubilee.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline; and his wife.

George was born March 19, 1919, in Pawnee, Okla., the son of Rollie and Edna Wheeler Branstetter. He married Helen M. Luthi on Aug. 2, 1941, in Woodward, Okla. Helen passed away in 2010.

George was a civil engineer and retired from Rinderknecht after many years of service. He was a deacon and a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church for over 56 years. George was a Mason and a board member of Tanager Place. George was a Rotarian and had the honor of receiving the Paul Harris Fellow. He enjoyed gardening, travel with his wife, Helen, and proudly served in the Army during World War II. His greatest joy, however, was the time spent with his beloved family and many friends. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved.

Memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Baptist Church, The Meth-Wick Community or Tanager Place.
