Paul Thomas Krogmann, 78, of Manchester, died Friday, April 18, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born Aug. 13, 1935, in rural Petersburg, the son of Paul J. and Myrtle E. (Wilgenbusch) Krogmann Sr. Paul was raised and educated in the area, attending Ss. Peter & Paul School in Petersburg and then worked for Jasper Tiling.
Paul was united in marriage to Rosemary Schlarmann on May 8, 1956, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Worthington. They began farming in 1959 near Quasqueton and in 1962, moved to a farm near Manchester. Nine children were born to this union.
Paul was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He loved his family and enjoyed farming, fishing, playing cards and the guitar. He always had a joke to share. One of the many memorable highlights of his life was when he and Rosemary went to Africa in 1996.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary of Manchester; nine children, Dan (Mary) Krogmann of Greeley, Robert Krogmann, Linda (Jay) Schmitt, Tom (Carol) Krogmann and Joe Krogmann, all of Manchester, Don (Paula) Krogmann of Center Point, Patty (Rich) Wessels of Cedar Rapids, Paul (Julie) Krogmann of Manchester and Judy (Pat) Mullis of Earlville; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, James (Marian) Krogmann of Masonville and Jerome "Jerry" (Rose Ann) Krogmann of Manchester.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Myrtle Krogmann; a granddaughter, Kaye Krogmann; and his in-laws, Ray and Veronica Schlarmann.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m Wednesday, April 23, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manchester, with the Rev. Joseph Schneider officiating. Visitation: 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. There will be a 2 p.m. Scripture service. Also friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment: St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester.
