Expect negativity during campaign

To the editor:
I am certainly not the only one that almost dreads another campaign year ahead. Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus will seemingly be coming to towns around America. Social media will be swamped with campaign blitzes, mud slinging ads, and utterly ridiculous comments about other fellow colleagues with little information to voters except what the politicians want us to hear or believe to get the vote.
If we could take the politics out of politics, we might find workable solutions to problems that concern everyone. There was a time when character mattered and the truth was important to move America forward. However, now the world has changed and the voters are left to figure out for themselves in this dense media fog who is best to lead America next.
Americans are smart and know what matters to them and their families and can see through this fog of negativity. I am certain that America will select who they best feel really cares about them as an individual and their needs.
The world is watching and I hope we select the candidate that will uphold the principles this nation was built on.
