Jones, Larry Lee
Larry Lee Jones, 74, of West Liberty, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at his home in West Liberty. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Community of Christ Church in Muscatine. Visitation will be held today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at the North Lawn Cemetery, Fort Dodge.
A memorial fund has been established.

Larry was born Jan. 7, 1936, in Fort Dodge, the son of Francis and Vera Anderson Jones. He was a graduate of Fort Dodge High School in 1954. On Nov. 13, 1955, he was united in marriage to the former Jody Bell in Fort Dodge. He had been employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company from 1962 until 1976. He then owned and operated Cedar County Tire in Tipton beginning in 1976, and later moved to West Liberty in 1988, retiring in 2007. He was a lifetime member of Community of Christ Church. His passion was spending time with his family and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Jody Jones of West Liberty; children, Jeffrey (Teresa) Jones of Burleson, Texas, Susan “Sam” Fittro and her partner Scott Grimm of West Liberty, Paul (Cheri) Jones of Center Point, and Erica “Swede” Olson of Hartford, Conn.; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Margaret Bell of West Liberty; two brothers, Charles (Darlene) Jones of Souix Falls, S.D., and Robert (Mary) Jones of Fort Dodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard; and a sister, Janice Fenn.
Larry's family would like to give special thanks to Iowa City Hospice and University of Iowa's Holden Cancer Center for their care during Larry's illness.
