Linda Lee Ward, 68, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at West Ridge Care Center. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Jude Catholic Church by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Burial: 3:30 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Riceville. A rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Linda is survived by her husband, Richard; five siblings, Leo (Susan) Pospichal of Delano, Minn., Laurie Jensen of Cedar Rapids, Mary (Linus) Luzum of Calmar, Debra (Mike) Mayer of Lakeville, Minn., and Joe Pospichal of Riceville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kelly Wilkinson; parents, Gerald and Marilu Pospichal; brother, Tom Pospichal; and sister, Cindy Pospichal.
Linda Lee was born Dec. 1, 1947, in New Hampton, the daughter of Gerald and Marilu (Hentges) Pospichal. She married Kelly Wilkinson on Nov. 29, 1975, in Riceville. He died in 2007. Linda married Richard Ward on Feb. 14, 2014, at St. Jude Catholic Church. She graduated from Riceville High School and Mason City School of Cosmetology. Linda owned and operated a beauty salon in Martelle for many years. She then worked at West Ridge Care Center, styling hair for the residents, retiring in 2012.
Linda enjoyed traveling, doing interior decorating, talking with family and friends, working and volunteering for West Ridge Care Center. She was very caring, friends with everyone and stayed very active within St. Jude Catholic Church. Most of all, Linda loved the time she spent with her nieces and nephews.
