Janetann was born May 16, 1925, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Genevieve Kallanrud. She grew up in Fort Dodge and graduated from Corpus Christi Academy in 1942. She then went on to attend the University of Iowa.
Janetann's career began in Washington,

Courcelle on Nov. 30, 1944, at Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Albany, N.Y. Following World War II, she worked in the Department of Army Signal Corps office and numerous divisions within the Department of the Navy. Returning back to Iowa in the early 1950s, she and David settled in Marshalltown. There she worked for the Soil Conservation. In 1954, she made a transfer to Cedar Rapids to work in the Navy's Administration office. After 45 years of continuous government service, she retired from the Defense Contract Administrative Office as a contract administrator.
Surviving to honor her beautiful memories are her daughter, Jodie A. Courcelle of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Jeremy Courcelle, Jillian and Johnathan Wenzel of Cedar Rapids and Jamie Cormier and husband Johnathan of Ladera Ranch, Calif.; and six great-grandchildren, along with her brother-in-law, Ralph Courcelle and wife Camille of Albany, N.Y.; Robert Ross and wife June of Rutland, Vt.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David, of 68 years; her parents and a brother, George.
Known to her family as Mums, she was a beautiful, strong and intelligent woman. She lived a truly fulfilled life, she took pride in her career accomplishments and held her family in the highest regard.
She loved her shopping trips to Seifert's, Armstrong's and Lindale Mall. She enjoyed a warm cup of tea and with a sweet treat. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, NARFE, NCMA and a past member of ABWA.
Mums will forever be in our hearts as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
