Haynes, Helen Jean

Helen Jean Haynes, 63, departed this life June 19, 2012, surrounded by her children and family.

Helen was born and raised in Holly Grove, Ark. After graduating from Holly Grove High School, she moved to Chicago, where she met and married Clark Haynes. From this union, three children were born. They later divorced. Helen was a devout Jehovah's Witness for over 40 years.

Helen is survived by three children: daughter, Rhonda, and sons, Dennis (Mary) and Michael (Kristi), all of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Reyanna, Jasmine, Bryson, Victoria, Malik and Tia; and a great-grandchild, Tristan, all of Cedar Rapids.

She is also survived by three sisters, Brenda (George) Bounds, Patricia (Kent) Sesker and Toni Lee; five brothers, Rick Williams, Larry (Patti) Williams, Oscar O'Bannon, Marck (Jenny) Lee and Alphonce (Kelly) O'Bannon, all of Cedar Rapids; and a host of aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by Mama June O'Bannon, Mona O'Bannon-Fuller, and ex-husband, Clark Haynes.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
