JOAN SUSAN (TAYLOR) ANDREWS

Joan Susan (Taylor) Andrews, 65, of Manchester, passed away Tuesday, May
15, 2018, at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home.
She was born Aug. 31, 1952, in Manchester, the daughter of Howard and Nell Jeane (Granger) Taylor. Joan was a 1970 graduate of Starmont High School. Joan had one year of vocational training at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. She served honorably in the U.S. Army at Fort Benning, Ga. After her discharge, Joan remained at Fort Benning and worked in civil service as a dental assistant until 1986. She later moved back to the Manchester area. Joan enjoyed crafts, cooking and baking.
Survivors include her mother, Jeane Taylor of Manchester; her siblings, Janice (Jerry) Everitt of Strawberry Point, Joyce (Tom) Bulgier of Huntsville, Texas, Jackie (Bruce) Brandes of Sealey, Texas, Russell (Michelle) Taylor of Fairfax, Randy (Cheri) Taylor of Manchester and Lynn (Jim) Mischke of Van Horne; two special aunts, Vera Gienapp and Iva Taylor, both of Manchester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joan was preceded in death by her father, Howard Taylor, in 2006; a nephew, Jacob Taylor; a great-nephew, Cody Henry; and two brothers-in-law, David Coleson and James Rittmer.

Memorial service with military rites: 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, at the United Methodist Church in Manchester with the Rev. Phil Rogers officiating. Visitation: 10 a.m. Monday, May 21, at the church. Private family inurnment: Greenwood Cemetery, Masonville, Iowa.
