After high school, Joe served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and later married Mary Tolito, who passed away in 1999. In his younger years, he worked on the L train in Chicago, a job of which he was very proud.
Later on, he began driving truck, eventually owning his own company where he continued to drive and expand his love for travel which also facilitated his enjoyment for casinos and slots.
Joe and Mary resided in Colorado for many years, and years after her death, Joe met Deanna Schropp, who he married Feb. 13, 2002, and shortly after, moved to Tiffin.
Joe loved his family dearly, and always enjoyed being around children, whether taking treats to the kids after their ballgames ended or handing out treats at Halloween.
His family includes his wife, Deanna; children, Rosemary Szulczewski of Chicago, Salvador "Sunny" Macri of Utah, Denise Finley (Mike) of New York and Joseph Macri Jr. (Cindy) of Colorado; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Sammy Macri (Pauline) and Geno Macri (Jan), both of Chicago, and Ernie (Audrey) Macri of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; previous wife, Mary; sisters; and son-in-law, Ron Szulczewski.
