Jan. 27, 2017 9:36 pm
Jarrod Uthoff and Adam Woodbury are teammates again.
Raptors 905, the Toronto Raptors' NBA D-League franchise in Mississauga, Ontario, traded Uthoff to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants Friday for Christian Watford, a former Indiana University player, and a 2017 third-round draft pick.
Uthoff signed as a free agent with Toronto last July after going undrafted and went to training camp with the Raptors. His contract included a $50,000 guarantee. He was waived near the end of camp and signed to a D-League deal with Raptors 905.
He played in 24 games for the 905 team, averaging 20.3 minutes, 7.8 points and 4.9 rebounds. He started in two games.
Uthoff was a first-team All-Big Ten player who averaged 18.9 points and 6.3 rebounds for the Hawkeyes last season.
Former Iowa center Adam Woodbury plays for Fort Wayne. He was sidelined for the first several weeks of the season with a back injury, but has come back and played in eight games, averaging 3.9 points and 3.8 rebounds. He started for the Mad Ants Friday night in their 109-99 win over the Windy City Bulls in Hoffman Estates, Ill.
The Mad Ants are the Indiana Pacers' D-League affiliate, but Uthoff and Woodbury have no contractual ties to Indiana.
