Rebecca Sue Corporon, 59, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Hospice of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, at a later date.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas Corporon of Cedar Rapids; children, Nicholas Corporon, Dani (Terry) Slaughter and Aimee (Jeremy) Nadke, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Cole, Carisa, Tayler, Janelle, Jaxon, Paiten, Kenedie and one on the way; siblings, Theresa Ann Trimble, Timothy Skoglund, Mary Goyer, and Ruth Goyer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike Corporon, Linda Vogt, Shawn Corporon and Kelly Luedtke; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Goyer; and in-laws, Don and Darlene Corporon.
Rebecca was born on March 12, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of Charles and Ida (Boner) Goyer. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1975. Rebecca married Douglas Corporon on May 27, 1978, at Hillside Methodist Church. She worked as a medical assistant and as a trainer for Principal Financial. Rebecca's family was everything to her. Doug was her soul mate and the couple enjoyed traveling and camping. She also enjoyed reading, knitting and cross stitching, but most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and her puppies.
