LEONARD VINCENT TERRY Coralville Leonard Vincent Terry, 55, of Coralville, passed away in his home on Jan. 20, 2016. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Newman Center in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Lensing's Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Rd., Coralville. Leonard was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Aug. 13, 1960, to Charles and Grace Terry. He married Ana Terry on April 5, 2002. He enlisted in the Navy upon leaving Western Connecticut State College, earning an Expeditionary Medal for his service in support of the Multi-national Force in Lebanon. After honorable discharge, he followed his passion and became a bakery chef for Abbott Labs. At the age of 30, he was struck with MS. For 25 years, Leonard courageously faced the challenge of the disease. He never lost his smile or ability to be grateful for his blessings, chief among them, Ana, his best friend and wife. Leonard is survived by his wife, Ana; and their three children, Tami, Amina and Halle. He also is survived by his siblings,Charles, Robert, James, Timothy, Brian, Kevin, Donna, Christopher, Edmond, Gerard and Michael; Ana's parents, Janchiv Ninj (Jaya) and Magvan Sambuu (Maya); and dear friend, Jagi Batdorj. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Grace. Leonard's loves included skiing, movies, sweets and the New York Giants. He was especially fond of his beloved dogs, Lucy and Snowball. He was never at a loss for a smile and found great joy in all he met. The family thanks the staffs of Iowa City VA SPI-Neurology team, Mercy Iowa City, Dr. Richard Neiman, Dr. James McCoy and the Iowa City Visiting Nurses Association and Comfort Care for its support over the years.
