Eileen Esther Klein, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the Hiawatha Care Center. Graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, at Cedar Memorial Park in Cedar Rapids. Please arrive at 10:30 a.m. for a short gathering. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Eileen was born March 3, 1927, to Louis and Minnie (Hanke) Martens in Castilia, Iowa. She married Donald L. Klein on July 9, 1946, in Castilia. He passed away in 2000.
She is survived by her daughter, Karyn (Tom) of Chicago; her brother-in-law, Lloyd Thornton; and many nieces and nephews.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Don; and eight siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
