DeShawn C. Daves, 49, longtime resident of the Coralville/Iowa City area, died suddenly Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at her home from natural causes. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home.

DeShawn Cherie Daves was born Aug. 16, 1966, in Iowa City, the daughter of Aubrey "Dave" and Carla Rae (Bell) Daves. She had most recently worked for GDIT in Coralville in quality control.
Her family includes her three children, Shasta Joy, Tom Cofield and Joseph Cofield; two grandchildren, Nevaeh and Jacob Joy; her father, Aubrey "Dave" Daves; her sister, Margaret "Peggie" Gipple (Bret); her brother, Raymond "Cody" Daves (Dayna); and her former husband, Jeffrey Cofield.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carla Rae Daves.
