Danetta M." Dee" Humpleby of Coralville went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014,
following a lengthy illness. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lensing's Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Rd., in Coralville. The family will greet friends on Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m. and the funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. The Rev. Kyle Otterbein will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Coralville.
Instead of flowers and plants, the family requests memorials to the Danetta Humpleby Memorial Fund.
She was born Danetta M. Rowe on July 17, 1934, in Grandview, Iowa. Danetta graduated from Muscatine High School in Muscatine, and married Robert V. Humpleby on May 10, 1952. She was a homemaker and this year the couple celebrated over 62 years of marriage.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; her son, Jeffrey (Cindy) Humpleby of Coralville; three grandchildren, Josiah, Luke and Anna Jo Humpleby, all of Coralville; niece, Andrea Barfield; nephew, Harlan "Eugene" Rowe; grandnieces, Ginny Owens and Angela Duncan; several great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; and her devoted dog, Buddy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Inez Belle Smith and Harlan Rowe; and her siblings, Dolores Dennis and Harlan "Buddy" Rowe Jr.
