SUZANNE (BULMER) MILLER ALLEN

Suzanne (Bulmer) Miller Allen, 87, of Coralville, passed away Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Lensing's Oak Hill Funeral Service, 210 Holiday Rd., Coralville, where the family will greet friends after 6 p.m. Burial will be held in October at Memorial Park Cemetery in Galesburg, Ill.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the educational fund of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Coralville and Miracles in Motion Therapeutic Equestrian Center, 2049 120th St., Swisher, IA 52338.

Suzanne was born Oct. 7, 1930, in Jacksonville, Ill., the daughter of Fred and Cecile (Mathews) Bulmer. She graduated from Galesburg Senior High School before attending the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. Suzanne married Robert Karl Miller on June 18, 1948. She later was united in marriage to Kermit Allen on Oct. 4, 1997, in Iowa City. They resided in Elkhorn, Wis., and later moved to Coralville. Kermit passed away on March 15, 2016, in Marshalltown.

Suzanne was employed at Technigraphics. She was also a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Survivors include her children, Roger (Evie) Miller of Des Moines and Karla (Jean Bott) Miller of Coralville; two grandchildren, Sarah (Jeremy) Schuller of Norwalk and Seth Miller of Des Moines; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Hannah Jameson of Norwalk.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents; and her husbands, Robert Karl Miller (1981) and Kermit Allen (2016).
