Sokol, Diana S.
Diana S. Sokol, 67, formerly of Coralville, died peacefully Sunday, July 8, 2012, at her home in Marion. Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time at Lensing Oak Hill Funeral Service, Coralville.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Diana was born April 10, 1945, in Iowa City, the daughter of Wayne and Mildred Abbott Rowe. She attended City High School. On Feb. 14 1970, Diana married Victor Sokol, they later divorced. Victor died in 2002.
Diana was employed for 34 years at Sheller Globe, retiring in 2002. She volunteered at the Iowa City Animal Shelter.
Survivors include her two daughters, Tina (Jack) Robinson of Iowa City and Stacey Sokol (Brent Bauer) of North Liberty; three grandchildren, Jacob (Danielle) Howsare, Jessica (Michael) Decker and Hunter Robinson; her sister, Kay (Tom) Lammers of Marion; her brother, Rollie (Tammy) Rowe of Coralville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents.
