Wenman, Frances L. 'Fran'
Frances L. “Fran” Wenman, 75, of Coralville, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Coralville. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 25, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, with burial to follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Frances L. Kasper was born June 10, 1937, in Iowa City, the daughter of Ambrose and Leona (Hebl) Kasper. She grew up in the Tiffin area, graduating from Tiffin High School. For a number of years Fran worked at the former Carousel Restaurant in Coralville, and for many years at the University of Iowa Hospital School. She raised her family in Coralville, where she continued to live. She enjoyed animals, her pets, collecting all sorts of items, and dearly loved her family, especially as the grandchildren came along!
Her family includes her two sons and their wives, Ron and Bev Wenman of Coralville and Dave and Julie Wenman of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; four grandchildren, Kim and her husband, Jason Vogelgesang, and Kelly Wenman, both of North Liberty, and Chris and Tracy Wenman of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; three sisters, Dolores Vorel (Leonard) of Tiffin, Rita Verry of Tiffin and Mary Ann Verscha of Coal Valley, Ill.; a brother, Bill Rogers of Tiffin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Ralph Rogers; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Verry and Richard Verscha.
A memorial fund has been established in Fran's memory.
