Jerry J. Boubin Jr., 56, of Waterloo, died of natural causes on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at his home in Waterloo.
Jerry was born April 22, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Jerry A. and Bonnie K. (Neprash) Boubin. He was a 1976 graduate of St. John's Catholic School in Independence and went on to study at the University of Iowa. In 1983, Jerry married Kim Schafrick in Cedar Rapids. They made their home in Independence. They later divorced. He worked as the sales and general manager of Boubin Tire from 1980 until 2005. He moved to Waterloo and started working as a computer technician for BerganKDV in Cedar Falls from 2005 until his death. He enjoyed fishing, watching movies, and had a passion for music.
He is survived by his father, Jerry A. Boubin, Independence; his son, James (Sarah) Boubin, Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Deb (Dan) Hosch, Independence, and Angie (Bill) Versluis, Independence; a brother, Mike (Diana) Boubin, Denver, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie K. (Neprash) Boubin.
Private family funeral services were held.
