Promotions
Smitha Mohan (see photo) and Ryan Kuntz (see photo) have been promoted to professional engineers in Iowa status with Shoemaker & Haaland Professional Engineers, which has offices in Coralville and Cedar Rapids. Both joined the company as structural engineers in 2006.
Cheme Fairlie (see photo) has been promoted from firefighter to fire captain of the Cedar Rapids Fire Department. Fairlie began her career with the department in 2003.
Anthony Dietiker (see photo) has been promoted to correctional supervisor 1 at the Anamosa State Penitentiary.

Arlene Shaw (see photo), Imaging Services Department supervisor at St. Luke's Hospital, has been named to the Bridgehaven Pregnancy Support Center board of directors.
The board of directors of Horizons, A Family Service Alliance, announced the following appointments: Tim Kintner (see photo), Bankers Trust, has been elected chairman; Janice Kerkove (see photo), Bradley & Riley, as vice chairwoman; Laura Wirth (see photo), Transamerica, as treasurer; Amy Johnson-Boyle (see photo), Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, as secretary.
Joshua Katcher (see photo) has been named president of Cedar Rapids National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors board of directors for 2012-2013. Also named to the board are Josh Rice, president-elect; Eric Kaestner, immediate past president; Mark Vanderzyl, membership; Jeff Kaiden, professional development; Elizabeth Rickels-Ster, secretary/treasurer; Marvin Stallman, national committee; Matt Brunson, Ryan Brems and Erin Worden, board members; and Ryan Bosch, government relations.
The Cedar Rapids Rotary Club has installed new officers: Lois A. Buntz, United Way of East Central Iowa,has been named the new president; John L. Wasta, Tallgrass Business Solutions, as president-elect;and Theodore E. Sorensen, St. Luke's Hospital, as immediate past president. New directors are Tim Kintner and Gail Naughton.

Kim Dougherty (see photo), formerly with Transamerica in Cedar Rapids, has joined TrueNorth as member coordinator. Kyle Ray (see photo) now works at TrueNorth as a financial analyst. He formerly worked with Wells Fargo in Des Moines.
Lori Hannan (see photo) has joined Storey Kenworthy in Cedar Rapids as an account manager for supply sales.

Dave Wright Nissan Subaru in Cedar Rapids has been named one of the Automotive News's best dealerships to work for, and the only one named in Iowa.
For the fifth time since 2006, Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids was recognized as one of the nation's Most Wired hospitals. The recognition is based on technology advancements.
