CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man faces multiple charges after he allegedly tried to flee from police.
According to the criminal complaint, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop Saturday when they noted Richard S. Campbell, 27, was driving a stolen vehicle.
Police said the vehicle was reported stolen from a residence in the 3300 block 16th Avenue SW.
When they attempted to stop the vehicle in the same area where the vehicle was taken, police said Campbell attempted to flee, exceeding posted speed limits by 25 miles per hour or more.
During the chase, the vehicle became stuck and Campbell attempted to flee on foot, police said, but he was apprehended and taken into custody.
Campbell faces charges of second-degree theft, attempting to elude and interference with official acts.
