Tvedt, Marjorie Gene
Marjorie Gene Tvedt, 90, of Whittier, Calif., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died March 20, 2010, in Whittier. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, April 5, at Brosh Funeral Service in Norway. Interment: Norway Cemetery, Norway.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Wilma Tvedt; nieces, Joan Ditto (Frank), Sue Cole (Chuck) and Karen Wilson (David); nephews, Jim Tvedt and Steve Tvedt; five grandnieces, three grandnephews, two great-grandnieces, one great-grandnephew and one great-great-grandnephew due in June.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1930, her father in 1967, and her brother, Richard E. Tvedt in 1984.
Marjorie was born June 13, 1919, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Nels and Oline Tvedt. Soon after, her brother Richard was born. The family settled in Newhall, Iowa. Marjorie attended Coe College then went to work for Iowa National Mutual Insurance Co. for 25 years. At the urging of her family, Marjorie moved to Whittier, Calif., in 1998.
