Elliott, Marjorie Ann (Shankland)
Marjorie Ann (Shankland) Elliott, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died June 5, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Per Marjorie's wishes, no services are to be held. Inurnment will be take place at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum. Arrangements entrusted to Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Derwin R. Elliott; her niece, Susan Shankland of Waverly; her stepdaughters, Joy Ann Brecht and husband Gary of Liberty, Mo., and Pamela Kay Palmer and husband Paul of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert C. Shankland; and sister-in-law, Betty L. Shankland.
Marjorie was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Newton, Iowa, the daughter of Robert L. and Della Mae (Emery) Shankland. She was a proud graduate of the 1948 class of Newton High School. She was united in marriage to Derwin R. Elliott on April 28, 1956, in Newton. She was employed for 25 years at Bishops Buffets as an administrative assistant.
Marjorie and Derwin enjoyed golfing together. She was a member of the El Kahir Shrine Auxiliary.
Memorial donations in Marjorie's name may be made to the El Kahir Shrine Auxiliary.
