Niffenegger, Marjorie Arlyce
CEDAR RAPIDS - Marjorie Arlyce Niffenegger, 89, of 802 18th Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at the Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Bill; children, Dorothy Hora of Tipton, Rita (David) Smith of Atkins, Leo (Karen) Niffenegger of Marion and Nancy (Thomas) Detweiler; daughter-in-law, Kim Niffenegger of Cedar Rapids; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and brother, Wallace Smith of Cedar Rapids.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Guy Niffenegger; brother, Marvin Smith; and sister, Colleen Smith.
Born Aug. 28, 1921, in Maynard, Iowa, Marjorie was the daughter of Floyd and Wilma (Silka) Smith. On Dec. 5, 1945, she was united in marriage to Bill Niffenegger.
Marjorie's joys were her family, bingo, sewing and fishing.
A memorial fund has been established in Marjorie's memory.
