Warren G. MacGregor, 97, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Manor Care. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Teahen Funeral Home by Chaplain Joe Kane. Burial: Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Saturday after 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Warren is survived by five nieces, Joyce Gearhart and Marlene Miller, both of Cedar Rapids, Shirley (Bill) Bates of Springville, Maureen Simoens of Arlington, Texas, and Dixie (Dave) Meyer of Lone Tree; six great-nieces and nephews, Jeff (Julie) Athey of Ridgeway, Wis., Kim (Steve) Stumpff of Walford, Robin (Mike Beaty) Kannenberg of Marion, Tammy Athey of Pittsburgh, Pa., Tracy Baumann-Grant of West Des Moines, and Billy Bates of Springville; many more great-great-nieces and nephews; Linda (Dave) and Steve Hammock; and friends, Charlie Smith and Jan Peacock.

He was preceded in death by 10 siblings, Flavel, Ruth Jack, Harold, Thelma, Louise, Gerald, Allen, Robert and Donald; and a nephew, David MacGregor.

Warren was born Nov. 17, 1920, in Oxford Junction, the son of John and Pearl MacGregor, and graduated from Oxford Junction High School. He joined the Army and achieved the rank of T-5 as he served in a tank division with Patton's army and wears a Purple Heart for wounds received in Belgium. Warren retired as an assembler in 1990 after 35 years with Cryovac.

Warren liked to watch golf, was good to everyone and liked to visit with his family and friends. When his parents were living, he would ride his motor scooter every weekend to help his parents in Oxford Junction.

Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the donor's charity of choice.
