LeClere, Harold A.
Harold A. LeClere, 95, formerly of Marion, died Friday, March 25, 2011, at Cottage Grove Place. Friends may call Monday, March 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. A celebration of life service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday Noelridge Christian Church, 7111 C Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402, by Pastor James Cotten. Private family burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Leo LeClere and wife Kim of Bernard; a daughter, Jan Patschke and husband Don of Marion; five grandchildren, Troy, Dan, Chris, Nicole and Georgia; and two great-grandchildren, Peter and Emily.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen (Tommie); his parents; a brother, Donald; and two sisters, Dorothy Ehrke and Phyllis Gearhart.
Harold was born Aug. 21, 1915, the son of Harry and Mary (DeShaw) LeClere, just south of Manchester. He graduated from Manchester High School and American Tech School in Des Moines. Harold was united in marriage to Carmen Miller on Sept. 24, 1939, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. She died April 7, 2003.
He was a member of Noelridge Christian Church. Harold retired from Rockwell Collins after 37 years in quality control. He was a retired member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Harold's memory.
