Barnard, Pauline G.
Pauline G. Barnard, 96, of Richardson, Texas, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Aug. 13, 2009, following an extended illness. Funeral services will take place 9 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are her son, Albert Jr. and wife Pat of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; son-in-law, Richard Moffitt of Garland, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Barnard and wife Sandy of Cedar Rapids and Chrissy Gattenby and husband Jason of Denton, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Brittany, Hunter, Taylor, Noah, and Rylee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Sr.; and daughter, Sandra Moffitt.
Pauline G. Barnard was born May 27, 1913, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Charles R. and Bonnie M. (Warner) Gearhart. She was united in marriage to Albert L. “Barney” Barnard Sr. on Sept. 18, 1933, in Cedar Rapids. He preceded her in death in 1997. Before moving to Texas, she was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening flowers, feeding birds and animals, and above all time spent with her family.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor may be made to Willis Adult Day Care Center, 921 Sixth Ave., Suite E, Des Moines, IA 50309.
