Rans, Virgil L.
Virgil L. Rans, 61. of 11956 Skyline Rd., Dubuque, died 3:53 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Finley Hospital following a battle with cancer. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Tri-State Community Church, 12937 Derby Grange Rd., Dubuque. Burial: Dubuque Memorial Gardens, with military rites accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League. Friends may visit from 3 until 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
Virgil is survived by his wife, Karen Rans, Dubuque; his children, Adam (Heather) Bauer, Dubuque, and April (Scott) Smith, Lake Mills; four daughters, Michelle, Stacey, Lori and Vicki; three grandchildren, Robbie, Randy and Ricky Bauer; his mother, Darlien Rans, Manchester; his siblings: Judy (Jim) Errthum, Manchester; Doug (Mona) Rans, Manchester; Elaine (Ed) Crane, Central City; Donna (Jan) Meyer, Manchester; Mary Kay Rans, Nevada; Jane (Dan) Ramthun, Nevada; Janet Rans, Manchester; Sheila Brown, Manchester; and Angie (Todd) Summers, Masonville; and his brother-in-law, Bill Gearhart, Manchester.
