Kernels break out offensively in 9-3 win
APPLETON, Wis. - T.J. White had three hits, and Max Murphy drove in three runs as the Cedar Rapids Kernels toppled Wisconsin, 9-3, in Midwest League baseball Monday night.
The Kernels (14-11) have been struggling offensively, but recorded nine hits and walked 10 times to win for just the third time in their last 10 games. Every position starter recorded a hit or walk (or both).
The teams play again here Tuesday night.
Starting pitcher Jared Wilson (3-0) threw six innings to get the victory. Zack Tillery finished up for his first save, throwing three shutout innings.
