Sue Davis, 95, of Iowa City, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, at Oaknoll Retirement Residence in Iowa City. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Iowa City with the Rev. Lauren Lyon officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials
be directed toward the Domestic Violence Intervention Project.
Sue was born Dec. 9, 1922, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Donald Harley and Norma (Evans) Corson. She married Edward Lane Davis on Feb. 2, 1943, in Montgomery, Ala. In 1949, Sue and Lane moved to Iowa City and began raising their family.
Sue is survived by her children, Chris Davis and Mary Forell-Davis of Hoboken, N.J., Evan Davis and Virginia Strand Davis of Iowa City and Andrew of Nashua, N.H.; her grandchildren, Matthew Forell-Davis, Rachel Davis and Benjamin Davis, her nephew, Scott Corson; and her niece, Joann Bacheller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Norma Corson; her brother, Donald Corson Jr.; and her sister-in-law, Margaret Corson.
