Flickinger, Mildred 'Millie' Ardath

Mildred “Millie” Ardath Flickinger, 85, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, from a prolonged illness in Everett, Wash. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery, Iowa City.

Survivors include her five children, Gary, Kenneth, Douglas, Craig Flickinger and Kathy Miller; eight grandchildren, Lisa, Curt, Jason, Becky, Scott, Jon, Monika and Colin; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband.

Millie was born June 8, 1928, in Frytown, Iowa, daughter of Mearlin and Ruth Gosnell. In October 1944, she was united in marriage to Harley Flickinger of Iowa City. She attended school at Center High in Iowa City. Millie worked at the Butterfly Café and the Flame Room.
